Limited to the North by the Province of Gaza, the South by South Africa, the West by Swaziland and the East by the Indian Ocean, the Maputo Province offers visitors the urban tourism in the city of Maputo, the beautiful capital of the Country and the Province, with the its wide boulevards lined with red and jacarand acacias, sun and sea tourism on the magnificent beaches of the Indian coast, and mountain tourism inland with visits to the Maputo Special Reserve, the small Libombos dam or the idyllic village of Namaacha.
The Bay of Maputo, which together with the Incomati and Maputo rivers borders the capital, bordered in front, 40 km from Maputo, with Inhaca Island, considered a biological patrimony of humanity where you can admire magnificent multicolored corals, sea turtles, marine mammals and a fish diversity that includes unique species.
Inhaca, a 15-minute flight from Maputo and with good tourist facilities, is a show of the entire Mozambican coast, with its mangroves, wonderful beaches, fauna and vegetation. Next to Inhaca, two uninhabited islets, Santa Maria and the island of the Portuguese, which can be reached by boat and provide a good day of beach and observation of the marine fauna that is next to the banks of coral there. The dominant ethnic groups in the province are Ronga and Changana.
